Who are SiteGround?
SiteGround is one of the biggest names in web hosting, with it being especially popular for WordPress and being known for reliable hosting, reasonable pricing and good customer service.
How much does the program pay?
SiteGround offer a tiered program, where the commission amount depends on the number of referrals you make a month:
- 1-5 Sales – $50 per sale
- 6-10 Sales – $75 per sale
- 11-20 – $100
If you are referring over 20 a month, then you are offered a custom commission, so a good incentive to send them more referrals!
How long do payments take?
Payments are very regular with payments being made on the first Wednesday after 30-days from the sale date has passed, this extends to 90-days if the user opts for a monthly billing cycle.
Payments are made via PayPal, unless you are generating a lot of commissions ($5000), then you will have the option of a bank transfer.
2: WP Engine
Who are WP Engine?
As the name suggests, WP Engine is very much focused on WordPress hosting and is one of the biggest players when it comes to hosting WordPress sites, with plans for every store from start-ups to enterprise and ecommerce.
How much does the program pay?
The WP Engine affiliate program has a minimum commission of $200 or equal to the first months payment, whichever one is greater.
How long do payments take?
Payments are made on or around the 20th of the month once the referral reaches 62 days.
I couldn’t find a minimum payment amount and payment options depend on what you set up in Everflow, which manages the WP Engine affiliate program.
3: Kinsta
Who are Kinsta?
Kinsta is another big player in when it comes to WordPress hosting but with more of a focus towards larger sites and a popular option customers looking to move from normal shared hosting but it is suitable for all sizes of WordPress site, including ecommerce stores.
How much does the program pay?
The Kinsta affiliate program is one of the best out there in terms of earning potential as they offer:
- A one-time payment of between $50 and $500, depending on the plan that the user chooses
- Plus a 10% recurring revenue split
This combination makes it one of the most attractive programs out there.
How long do payments take?
In order to be approved for a payment, the referral must pass a 2-month qualification period, once approved, they are paid between the 15th and 20th of every month.
There is $500 minimum payment amount and they currently only pay out through PayPal
4: Bluehost
Who are Bluehost?
Bluehost is one of the most recognisable names in hosting and a very popular option for people who are new to WordPress due to their lower pricing and being a WordPress recommended hosting provider but they also offer dedicated ecommerce hosting along with VPS.
How much does the program pay?
Bluehost offer a range of commissions depending on the product, including:
- $65 for shared and ecommerce hosting
- $500 for managed VPS and cloud hosting
- $1,500 for a dedicated server
So there are chances to earn some big commissions but the shared and ecommerce hosting will be the most popular options for users.
How long do payments take?
Actions are locked 1 month and 6 days after they are tracked, with payments being made 10 days after the end of the day they lock.
Minimum payment amount and payment methods depends on the setting you set up in your Impact account.
5: Cloudways
Who are Cloudways?
Cloudways is more focused on developers than other hosts on this list as you rent a server that can be configured for the application of your choice and they offer multiple server options including Digial Ocean, Vultr, AWS and Google Cloud.
How much does the program pay?
What makes their affiliate program different from others is that they offer two options as to how you get your commissions:
- Single Payment of up to $125
- A single payment of $30 + a 7% recurring commission
This is really good as you can choose which option is best for your business.
How long do payments take?
Commissions get approved when the referral has paid a minimum of 2 invoices, with payments being paid during the last week of the month once your balance reaches $250.
Payments are made via PayPal or if you are making over $1000 a month in commissions, you can request payments be made by bank transfer.
6: Hostinger
Who are Hostinger?
Hostinger is another well-known web hosting company but one that is more focused on the entry level of the market due to the lower prices of their hosting than some of the other companies mentioned in this list.
How much does the program pay?
Their affiliate program offers up to 40% as a one-time payment, which is lower than some of the other providers listed but due to the lower prices, conversion rates can be quite good.
How long do payments take?
Hostinger doesn’t offer automatic payouts and you need to submit a payment request once your balance reaches the withdrawal limit, with payments being made on the 15th of the month that follows when you made your withdrawal request.
They offer two offers for withdrawals:
Bank Transfer with a minimum balance of $500
PayPal with a minimum balance of $100
Conclusion
There are lots of hosting companies that offer really good affiliate programs, with lesser-known companies often offering high commissions but the reputation of the hosting provider often plays a role in conversion rates.
It also depends on the type of content you produce as to what are going to be the best hosting companies to partner with as a host that focuses on VPS is probably not going to be the best option if your audience are starting WordPress sites.
